Peddles are another important accessory that you just simply can’t ride without. Peddles connect to your cranks and allow you to comfortably propel the bike forward. There are two different types of peddles depending on the style of riding that you do. Most all around mountain bikers prefer clipless peddles for a couple of reasons. First, they connect you to your bike allowing you to be one with you mountain bike. Second, being attached to your bike gives you much more uphill power. Most downhill mountain bikers prefer not to be attached to the bike allowing them release from the bike at any moment. On a downhill bike you would typically not use clipless pedals.
